Akira is a 2016 Hindi action-crime drama directed by AR Murugadoss, serving as a remake of the Tamil film Mouna Guru. Sonakshi Sinha stars in the titular role of Akira, a headstrong young woman skilled in martial arts who moves to Mumbai for college. She inadvertently becomes the target of a corrupt police ring led by a vicious cop (Anurag Kashyap). Wrongfully institutionalized and hunted, Akira turns the tables on her tormentors in an intense, bone-crunching battle for justice and vindication.
